Watch Spotting: Tiger Woods Wears A Rolex Deepsea D-Blue After Winning His First Masters In 14 Years

By Stephen Pulvirent

I like golf just fine, but I wouldn’t generally consider myself a huge fan of the sport. Sure, I’ll play from time to time, and I’ll occasionally stop and watch a few minutes here and there when I’m flipping channels. That’s about it, though. But this weekend I was glued to my TV, watching none other than Tiger Woods (yeah, that Tiger Woods) march his way up the leaderboard at The Masters in Augusta, Georgia. From the moment the tournament started on Thursday, it looked like Tiger was in the zone and by Saturday afternoon he was a clear contender for the title. Well, just a few hours ago he officially won in old-school Tiger fashion and ended more than a decade without a major tournament win. On his wrist as he donned the iconic green jacket for the fifth time? A Rolex Deepsea D-Blue, of course.

It’s no surprise that Tiger was sporting something from the Crown (he is an official brand ambassador, after all), but the exact choice of watch definitely caught my attention. We’ve seen golfer Brooks Koepka rock both the ceramic Daytona and the latest-generation Sea-Dweller at his consecutive U.S. Open wins, but while those are much-talked-about, hard-to-get watches, the Deepsea D-Blue is much more of a cult classic. Though it was first introduced back in 2014, Rolex updated it along with the rest of the Sea-Dweller line in 2018. This is a watch Tiger can be seen wearing quite often and it must be an actual personal favorite of his, not just something he’s wearing for the photo-op. I can get behind that, for sure.
